About Me

My name’s Luke, and I’m now a semi-professional portrait photographer with over 15 years of experience.

Portrait photography, for me, is about people — not poses. From the very start of my journey, I’ve been drawn to capturing real expression and genuine character rather than stiff, overly styled images. I believe the strongest portraits come from connection, trust, and a relaxed environment where people feel comfortable being themselves.

I work closely with each client to create images that feel confident, natural, and uniquely personal. No two people are the same, and every session is approached with that in mind. Whether you’re booking a professional headshot, a personal portrait, or something more creative, I take the time to understand what you want the images to say and how they’ll be used. This collaborative approach allows the session to flow naturally and ensures the final photographs truly represent you.

Many people arrive at a shoot feeling unsure or nervous about being photographed — and that’s completely normal. My approach is calm, friendly, and unhurried, designed to take the pressure off and make the experience enjoyable rather than intimidating. I’ll guide you where needed, but never force expressions or awkward poses. The aim is always to create portraits that feel authentic and effortless.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked throughout Yorkshire and the surrounding counties, photographing clients in studios, workplaces, homes, and on location. This breadth of experience has helped shape a flexible working style and a strong understanding of how to adapt to different people, spaces, and lighting conditions while maintaining a consistent, high-quality result.

What matters most to me is delivering portraits that you feel comfortable sharing and proud to represent you. Images that feel timeless rather than trend-driven, and honest rather than overworked. If you’re looking for portrait photography that prioritises people, personality, and a relaxed experience, I’d love to work with you.
